Salisburys Chartered Accountants Rationalises Print Estate with Toshiba for Cost Savings and Sustainability
Salisburys Chartered Accountants has been serving clients across North Wales for more than 35 years, offering a comprehensive range of services from start-up support and tax advice through to major business transactions. With offices in St Asaph, Ruthin, Penmaenmawr, Menai Bridge, and Beaumaris, the firm handles a diverse range of confidential documentation on a daily basis.
The Challenge
Salisburys had been experiencing persistent issues with support and delivery from its existing print solutions provider — poor enough to prompt the firm to look at exiting the contract a year ahead of the scheduled renewal date.
The search for an alternative needed to address more than just price and reliability, however. Salisburys has a strong net zero vision and has already invested in electric charging points, LED lighting, and solar panels at its head office, with plans for more at other sites. Any new print partner would need to offer sustainable solutions that could contribute to the firm’s environmental objectives as the next logical step in its green strategy.
At the same time, the firm needed secure scanning functionality for confidential client documentation, and a technology platform that would support its ongoing journey towards digitised processes and reduced paper consumption.
The Solution
Toshiba audited and reviewed each of Salisburys’ five office sites, assessing the existing devices and mapping them against actual requirements. The resulting proposal rationalised the print estate, recommending appropriate Toshiba MFPs and printers for each location based on the volume, type, and sensitivity of the documents handled there.
A significant reduction in the annual contract cost was included in the proposal, alongside the secure scanning functionality and future-proofed technology platform that the firm required.
The transition was managed end-to-end, with pre-configured devices deployed quickly and efficiently to minimise disruption to staff.
The Results
Salisburys now operates compact, reliable Toshiba printers and MFPs across all five offices. The devices are fast, easy to use, and include the latest secure scanning functionality — essential for handling the confidential financial and legal documentation that flows through the practice every day.
The rationalised estate delivers a meaningful cost saving on the annual contract, while the technology provides a solid platform for continued digitisation and paper reduction. Toshiba’s Carbon Zero scheme supports the firm’s sustainability commitments, offsetting the carbon footprint of every device.
Aled Roberts, Director, described the experience as markedly different from previous suppliers. He noted that the approach was open and honest throughout, with clear communication and a genuine commitment to understanding the firm’s needs. The smooth and seamless transition process reinforced his confidence in the partnership, and he has recommended Toshiba to other companies looking for sustainable, well-supported document solutions.
