Apps & Software Solutions
Print management software and document workflow apps for Toshiba e-STUDIO and Develop ineo multifunction printers — for secure print release, cloud scanning and cost control. We help you choose, configure and integrate the options that fit your model, licences and systems.
The MFD as a workflow hub
A modern Toshiba e-STUDIO or Develop ineo is a touchscreen workstation that sits on your network, connects to your cloud platforms and can carry out multi-step document tasks at the device itself. Scan a contract directly to a SharePoint folder. Release a confidential print only after a card-tap at the device. Pull a paper invoice into OneDrive with searchable OCR. Run a finishing job through a hot-folder workflow without anyone touching a desktop.
Toshiba: the e-BRIDGE Open Platform
The e-BRIDGE Open Platform is Toshiba’s published API for e-STUDIO MFDs. It lets third-party software developers build apps that run on the device itself — using the same colour touchscreen UI as the native menus.
What this means in practice: you’re not locked into Toshiba-only software. The same MFD can run apps from PaperCut, Microsoft, Google, Dropbox and dozens of niche workflow specialists — all installable, updatable and authenticated through the device’s web admin. Where an industry-specific document-management system exposes a Toshiba connector, the MFD can plug into that too.
It also means you can stage new apps without re-platforming. Start with stock workflow templates; layer in PaperCut for cost recovery six months later; add secure-release authentication when your security review comes round. Every change is a software install, not a hardware swap.
Develop: built-in features and YSoft SAFEQ
Develop ineo devices have useful features built in. Depending on the model, these include scanning to email, network folders, FTP and WebDAV, sign-in against Active Directory, secure print and per-user accounting. Options such as an ID card reader, searchable-PDF OCR and serverless pull printing can be added.
For wider print management, YSoft SAFEQ 6 is an on-premises option for supported Develop devices. SAFEQ is third-party software from Y Soft, not a built-in Develop feature. It adds sign-in at the device, secure print release, cost accounting and reporting, and scan workflows to destinations such as SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
Y Soft lists SAFEQ 6 embedded terminals for both Develop and Toshiba devices, so it can also suit a mixed fleet. The edition, licences, server and exact model compatibility all need checking, so we assess SAFEQ as an option and quote it only where it fits.
Develop also provides device security guidance covering its built-in features and configurable safeguards. We confirm the user sign-in and account controls available for your model before recommending a solution.
Common workflow categories we deploy
- Scan to SharePoint and OneDrive. Our most common integration. Walk a paper file to the MFD, choose a destination from the touchscreen, scan. The PDF (searchable OCR’d if you want) lands in the right SharePoint library or OneDrive folder, named correctly, ready to share. The same pattern extends to Google Drive, Dropbox, Box and Egnyte where a customer’s stack uses those instead.
- Secure print release. Documents queue on the server, not the device. Walk to any MFD on your network, tap your card or enter a PIN, and only then does the document print. Confidential files don’t sit unattended in the output tray. Common solutions: PaperCut MF on Toshiba devices; built-in secure print or YSoft SAFEQ 6 on Develop devices.
- Print management and cost recovery. Per-user, per-department, per-client allocation of print costs. Useful for legal practices billing back to matters, marketing agencies billing back to campaigns, NHS trusts apportioning budgets. On Toshiba devices, PaperCut is the platform we deploy. On Develop devices, we assess the built-in user accounting or YSoft SAFEQ 6.
- Mobile and guest printing. Send a job from a phone or laptop, anywhere. Pick it up at any networked MFD in the building. Useful for hybrid teams, conference rooms, visiting clients.

How we help you choose
Most buyers don’t need every solution. They need two or three of the right ones, deployed properly, integrated with the systems they actually use.
That starts with a free initial scope. We sit down with you (in-person or video), walk through how documents move through your business today — where paper enters, where it leaves, where it sticks — and identify which integrations would actually pay back. There’s no charge for this conversation; we use it to understand your environment before recommending anything.
From the scope we build a project plan and a cost. The plan covers the hardware, the software apps, the integration work, deployment timelines and training. For straightforward configurations (scan-to-OneDrive on an e-STUDIO fleet, PaperCut cost recovery for a 20-user office) the project is delivered by our own team alongside the device installation. For more involved integrations — bespoke connectors, custom capture workflows, anything that needs vendor-level expertise — we engage Toshiba Professional Services on Toshiba projects, or the relevant manufacturer or software vendor on Develop projects. Their time is itemised in the project cost so there are no surprises.
If you already run PaperCut or another platform, we check whether your Toshiba or Develop devices can join it. If you don’t, we’ll tell you whether you need one — sometimes the answer is “the device’s built-in features will do the job.”
