Who we help — by organisation size and need

Most print problems are not really about the machine. They are about scale — how many people share a device, how many sites you run, how much control and reporting you need, and who is accountable when something stops working.

That is why we organise this part of the site by operational size and need, not by what kind of company you are on paper.

Start where your organisation actually is

Small and growing businesses — one office, or a handful of people sharing one or two devices. The priorities are usually getting the specification right, keeping costs predictable, and having one number to ring when something jams.

Multi-site and larger organisations — several locations, departments with different needs, and a fleet that has probably grown by accident rather than by design. The priorities are usually consistency, visibility, security and coordinated support.

Neither is a tier of service. They are two different conversations that lead to two different specifications.

Does my company type change what I need?

No. This is one of the questions we are asked most.

Whether you are a sole trader, a partnership, a limited company, an LLP or a PLC is a legal and tax classification. It describes how your business is registered and how it is taxed. It does not describe how many people share a printer, how many sites you run, or whether you need secure print release.

What actually changes the recommendation is:

  • how many people will use the device
  • how much you print in a typical month, and in colour or mono
  • how many sites need to work the same way
  • what you handle — client data, patient records, contracts, exam papers
  • what has to be proved — audit trails, retention, access control

Two businesses with the same legal form and very different answers to those questions need different equipment. Two businesses with different legal forms and the same answers usually need the same thing.

One place company type can matter is finance. If you are considering paying for equipment over an agreed period, the provider assesses the organisation and the application. That is a separate process with its own considerations — see Finance and Leasing.

If you are just starting out

New and early-stage businesses are covered on the small and growing businesses page. The advice is the same as for any small team: size the device to what you actually print, not to what you might print in three years, and make sure the agreement can change when you do.

If you already have equipment

Most of the organisations we talk to are not buying their first device. They are replacing something that has become unreliable, expensive, or wrong for how they now work. If that is you, the useful starting point is what you have and what it costs you — not a product list.

Other ways into the site

This is one of three ways to find what is relevant to you. The others are:

  • By sector — 29 sector pages covering the specific pressures of your industry
  • By location — where we cover, and who looks after your area

These are parallel routes to the same team, not separate service levels. Use whichever fits your situation.

Talk to someone

If you are not sure which description fits, tell us what you have and what is going wrong with it. That is usually a faster route to the right answer than a specification list.
