Several sheets feed through together
Sheets of paper can stick together, so the copier picks up more than one. Take the stack out, loosen it so the sheets separate, and load it again. If printed sheets come out of the machine misaligned instead, the checks are different: see below.
If several sheets feed together
- Remove the paper stack from the drawer.
- Loosen the stack so the sheets are no longer stuck together.
- Load the paper again and retry the job.
If printed sheets come out misaligned
- Check the paper is loaded with its printing side the right way up. The paper wrapper may show which side is the printing side.
- Not sure which side to use? Do a test print with the paper each way up and keep whichever comes out neatly aligned.
- Check that the paper type set for the drawer matches the paper actually loaded.
If paper keeps misfeeding
Loosening the stack only helps when sheets are sticking together. Repeated misfeeds can have other causes, such as paper that isn't suitable for the machine, a paper size setting that doesn't match the paper loaded, a stack above the loading line on the side guide, guides set too far from the paper, or a misfed sheet still hidden inside. Check the touch panel to see where the misfeed happened.
Never try to repair, take apart or modify the copier yourself. The manufacturer warns that doing so could cause a fire or an electric shock.
If the problem continues, contact your service provider. Tell them your model name and the exact wording of the message on the touch panel, plus any error code shown.
