Cancelling a print job, or freeing a job that is waiting for paper

Both are done from the job list on the touch panel. To cancel, delete the job from the print list. If [Job Status] is blinking, the paper size the job asks for is not set in the drawers: feed it from the bypass tray, or send it to a drawer that already has paper.

Cancel a print job

  1. Open the job list: press Job Status (top right of the home screen) or [Job Status] (bottom right of any function screen).
  2. Press [Print] on the [Jobs] tab.
  3. Select the job in the print job list and press [Delete].
  4. Press [Delete] again to confirm.

[Job Status] is blinking: the job is waiting for paper

The paper size the job asks for is not set in the drawers. Choose one of the two options below.

Option 1: feed the job from the bypass tray

  1. Press the blinking [Job Status].
  2. Load the bypass tray with paper of the size the job asks for, then press [START].
  3. When printing has finished, press [Job Status] again.

Option 2: use paper already in a drawer

  1. On the touch panel, press the button for the drawer you want to use.
  2. Press the [START] button.

“Cannot print due to resource shortage” is shown

Too many jobs are waiting on the copier. Delete the ones you don't need, including in-progress or interrupted jobs you can do without, then try again.

If you send the job to a drawer holding paper smaller than the size the job asked for, some of the image may be cut off.

Nothing prints from my computer: what to check before asking IT

Five quick checks cover the usual causes: the copier's power, its mains plug, the network cable at the copier, toner and paper, and your printing allowance. If all five are fine, the next step is to ask whoever manages the copier.

Check these five things

  1. The MAIN POWER lamp on the copier is lit.
  2. The power plug is pushed fully into the socket.
  3. The network cable is firmly plugged into the LAN port on the copier.
  4. There is enough toner and paper in the copier.
  5. The number of pages you want to print does not exceed the limit set for your department or user account.

Still nothing?

Ask your administrator. Printer driver, port and network settings on your computer are for them to check, and changing them needs an account that is allowed to install software.

Never try to repair, take apart or modify the copier yourself. The manufacturer warns that doing so could cause a fire or an electric shock.

If the problem continues, contact your service provider. Tell them your model name and the exact wording of the message on the touch panel, plus any error code shown.
